Our Story
Founded in 2015, Brilliant Light Source started as a small specification consulting firm serving contractors in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our founders — experienced lighting designers and electrical engineers — saw firsthand how broken the procurement process was.
What began as a manual consulting service evolved into a technology platform when we realized that the same procurement challenges repeated across every project. Today, BLS serves over 2,400 projects nationwide, managing more than $847 million in lighting procurement.
Our platform connects every stakeholder in the lighting supply chain — from architects and engineers who specify, to contractors who procure, to manufacturers who supply — creating a single source of truth for every lighting decision on a project.
