Case Study · November 2025
AIA Pittsburgh announced the winners of its 2025 Design Pittsburgh Awards on November 6 at the August Wilson African American Cultural Center. Twenty-three projects earned recognition, with Hord Coplan Macht's Glasshouse at Station Square taking the Silver Medal — the chapter's highest honor. We're proud to work alongside many of the firms behind these projects.
The annual Design Pittsburgh Awards recognize outstanding work from AIA Pittsburgh members across every scale of practice — from single-family residences to large institutional and mixed-use buildings. The 2025 ceremony delivered 23 awards including 1 Silver Medal, 5 Honor Awards, 14 Certificates of Merit, plus special recognitions for masonry, schools, and emerging architects.
Several winners stand out for their ambition: the Glasshouse brings a high-performance glass curtain wall to Station Square; AE7's Northside Medic Station 4 is the first net-zero-ready paramedic station in the United States; and GBBN's transformation of the historic Auction House at the Produce Terminal into the LEED Gold Richard King Mellon Foundation Headquarters reuses a 100-year-old structure without losing its character.
Lighting is where good architecture becomes great — so we're especially glad to see so many firms on this list that we've partnered with on past work. Congratulations to everyone recognized.
